SCOOT is a LBG/ARG for families to play together… but essentially it is aimed at the kids.
The game is called SCOOT and we have designed it for public places and museums… as a way to introduce everyday places as both a muse for storytelling and a stage for adventure… as well as to demonstrate to kids that basic mobile phone services can be used creatively.

We are currently designing our fourth major event in Australia (we have been doing one event a year for the last 4 years). These events normally run for 3 days and involve a great deal of rich media installed in place…

The main Premise of SCOOT:
SCOOT is a parallel world. It was once a peaceful place until Omega Carnega brought her Carnival Games to town. There are rumours in the Agency that she plans to bring her carnival to YOUR world. This can only mean chaos for us all. We must collaborate to seek out clues in both SCOOT world and your world. You will need to join the Agency for Stable Dimensional Travel to help the S’Avatars of SCOOT. You will then receive all mission information through a secret SMS frequency to meet other agents, resolve challenges and seek out the dodgy carnival boxes.

Basicallyt there are 3 main components of SCOOT

1. the virtual world - multiplayer chat, avatar customisation (players collect virtual disguises as they play the game on-site)
2. the dynamic SMS pathway (mission and search info)… players seek out both local historic and game narrative information.
3. Installations (green carvival boxes of interactive games, animation displays, etc)
(this year there will be a fourth component as we also plan to propagate various online social networks with SCOOT cahracters- such as Face Book, wikis, flickr, youtube, list.fm etc)

The multi player game is currently ‘off line’
In the coming weeks… a whole new version of SCOOT will be released in the lead up to the event in September for the River Festival in Brisbane, Australia.
